a 2 year old girl who was crying and screaming turned into a little joke telling angel downed almost a whole box of "pizza bones" by herself.

And then my son gobled his down when I got home.

I once lived in Saskatchewan (where Vern's was born) and at that time it was famous. Now that people have caught on to sodium and nitrate counts - they've taken a hit. The monstrous deli-meat sytle pizza's are a party fave - but once a month is the limit - unless you're walking to dinner and it's 5 miles there and back.

I think I am OK with the salt? My Doctor just qudrupled one of my pills - the one for fat in my blood?
Funny, I always got low marks in school, and now I am getting high marks! Seems with age and poorer eating habits, scores actually increase! lol

In our house we call Vern's Pizza a heart attack waiting to happen. We had it once, then we both took our blood sugar levels about 2 hours later and the readings were dangerously high. Not something we will ever have in our house again.

We ordered Vern's when it first opened in Winnipeg and I found it to be disgusting...worst pizza I ever had. I am not a fan of processed deli meats on my pizza.

The carbohydrates.

The body of a person with diabetes cannot process high levels of carbohydrates fast enough to convert it into energy. Blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes can rise within hours after eating.

Let's see, all of the processed "meat" products that are used on any of Vern's Pizzas that include the word "meat". Not only are they dangerous for the high salt content but the processing of these items create high sugar levels when digested. As well the pizza dough that is made with white refined flour is also loaded with sugar. The better choice for a pizza dough is to use a whole grain flour dough but unless you actually make your own, do you really know what is going into or on these pizzas?

There is nothing delicious in salt, sugar and chemicals that allows processed foods to stay on the shelf for weeks and months before going bad.

Vern's is different from other pizza's only in the fact that they think it's ok to put the massive amount of processed meat on a pizza. When they list that their Mama Mia 18" pizza weighs in over 10 lbs that is disgusting.
