I read the first paragraph and without going any further knew exactly what was going on here. What teams it was and who was impacted. I have had reports of this guys workings from the first day when he started asking for all this money up front. Not being involved I kept point the parents to the league and the community centre they were out of.
One thing you have to be aware of. Even if the same day the guy came forward as a volunteer if the background checks were started, it would have been a month minimum before they were back. Its really hard to watch stuff like this but with that said, red flags should have went up almost immediaitly when the guy volunteered for two positions on the board and three teams.
