Glad to see Winnipeg join the big cities with a specialized sport radio format. And this station is owned by CTV, affiliated with none other than Mr. Thomson himself. Coincidence? Or just another preparation step for the return of the NHL to The Peg? :party 005:

Interesting. I wonder if this means there's a possible broadcasting change for one of the other sports teams in the city?

There has been some very intriguing things going on that point to something that teases and confounds. The hugely expensive $2 million press box renovation at MTS Centre being the prime one. Who the hell needs a $2 million dollar - doubled in size press box for Meese games?

1290 is actually RETURNING to a sports format - it was THE TEAM 1290 for a year or three at the turn of the century!

I believe that Thomson will no longer have any control in CTV/TSN.

All sports is not sustainable, not profitable in this area! That is what we have the Winnipeg Sun for!

There aren't that many truck drivers to listen and not enough advertizers to support that portion of the market!
