Yes. I want to know too.
If nobody has gone, I'll take one for the team and try it when I get a chance. I'm intrigued. I'm not the biggest fan of vegan-y vegan food, but when it's well prepared it's good.

I've been twice, and I think it's really delicious. I'm partial to the Thanksgiving burger - vegan "turkey" patty, maple-glazed yam, cranberry sauce...

I've also had the Boon Burger, which was good. Drink specials are good. I had the fruity roiboos iced tea. Fries are okay. Sesame-coated. Mushroom gravy, I wasn't a big fan. Cheese is vegan, which can't compare to real cheese.

Definitely worth the visit.

I picked up lunch for myself and my daughter and rought it back to work. She rates it 10/10, and I would give it a 2/10.
She is a vegetarian and I am not.
Very small seating capacity, long bench style, beautiful restaurant, seats maybe 20. They have a take out bicycle window.Restaurant was busy at 1145AM. They are now open Mondays possibly Sunday , I don't know for sure. 11-11PM.

2 sandwiches, very large very different and poutine.
The order taker has great bright red hair, I don't think it was natural, but looked great for the restaurant.
You should try it! If I saw my daughter starving I would re-order for myself. Parking is big trouble if you cannot walk far. I drove 3 times around the block, and I ended up parking for the 5 minutes needed to pick up, behind in the back lane. It is 1/2 block from the Miserable Cordia Hospital at 79 Sherbrook, North of Wolseley.

The whole concept of meat substitution is just wrong and gross. Burger is ground up beef, and when it's shaped into a patty and put in a bun then its "a" burger. I love eating vegetables more than meat and wish I had the discipline to become vegan. Having factories or restaurants that shape vegetables into meat-like products may provide more choices and appeal to some people, but not for me. I wish they had found a better name for this place to remove associations with meat.

well...definitively...a "burger" is just something smashed between a bun:

burg·er (bûrgr)
n.1. A sandwich consisting of a bun, a cooked beef patty, and often other ingredients such as cheese, onion slices, lettuce, or condiments. Often used in combination: a cheeseburger.
2. A similar sandwich with a nonbeef filling. Often used in combination: a crab burger; a tofu burger.

But I agree with the whole "meat substitution" thing.
Either you eat meat or you don't...but you don't get to fake it. If you don't want to eat meat, why would you make vegetables to TASTE like meat? That's just wrong and hypocritical.

In the words of a well-known comedian...it's like a lesbian using a dildo...they made their choice.

The turkey patty doesn't taste like turkey. It's just called that for the novelty of a Thanksgiving supper. Most people don't even really associate the taste of certain meals with the meat. For example, chicken fingers often have a lot to do with flavour of the breading, turkey with its sage and rosemary seasoning, meat sauce with its tomato, oregano, and basil, etc.

I agree about the fake meat you might buy at a grocery store, but when you make it from scratch, it's really about using those similar seasonings with a vegetarian product (soy, mushroom, rice, beans, legumes, etc.) that tastes reminiscent of the meat dish but only because of the flavourings. For Boon Burger, I would say this is the case. A mushroom-rice patty doesn't really have anything to do with a beef burger patty.

For all of you crying foul about what a "burger" is - well, it's not going to be a burger joint for you, I guess. For vegetarians, though, it's a burger!

There are a lot of different styles of vegetarian burgers. Some are made to taste like different types of meat but others aren't. Haven't tried this place out yet but I hear good things.

the A&W "veggie/mushroom" monstrosity is gross. Most other veggie burgers are pretty good.

Veg burgers are def. not all created equal. I've had horrfying ones (like the A&W one mentioned above, and I've had great ones from the vegetarian grocer case like the ones made by Money's Muchrooms (mushroom & oat base) or Yves. I'll make my own from time to time w/ black beans or kidney beans, but it's nice having a veg dining out option too.

@eviltroll ---> I concur. Faux meat bothers me too. Some vegans I know spend a great deal of time trying to make vegan mock tuna salad. Really? WTF? You WANT your veggie based food to TASTE LIKE TUNA? Gaaaaaaaack.
