pop doesn't cost that much...it's the containers that cost the money.

Just ask any 7-11. That's why getting a "refill" with a cup there costs about 1/2 as much as getting a new cup.

Also why movie theatres are now offering free refills for popcorn & pop during the movie.

Go down south and ask for a "large" and see what you get.

On vacation a few weeks ago my wife found this out with her coffee the first morning! lol

Yeah...a large pop in the US is 44oz. (not the 32oz. you get here)

a double-gulp at 7-11 is usually about $1.50 (not the $2.50 charged here)

Same typically goes with coffee too.

At Dunkin Donuts, a large coffee was 32oz. (same as a large pop at McDs here), and (when i moved here) cost $.99 (probably $1.99 now with coffee prices rising)

On Dr. Oz yesterday they had a gal that consumed the equivalent of something like 72 teaspoons of sugar daily. In 28 days she got it down to 10 teaspoons daily. How many teaspoons are contained in those big gulp drinks?

They were all free refills for the longest time, then the MB health inspectors cracked down on it..

I was just at Polo Park about 2 weeks ago, and Grant about a month ago...and BOTH offered the free refills.
The cheapies on McPhillips it's been about 1 year since I went there...but last time I went it was offered.

In the ones I get? none...I drink diet.

But there's probably less sugar in the pop than the slurpee...and Winnipeg is Slurpee capitol of the world...so imagine how much sugar is going in those (i've not seen a "diet slurpee" anywhere)

I get a kick out of people that eat a double cheeseburger with a large order of fries with gravy along with a diet drink.

Just how do their brains work?

Diet drinks aren't usually about the sugar/weight gain factor.

Personally, I prefer the taste of diet coke to coke...i find it less sweet, and less of an aftertaste in my mouth.
