Ten Reasons to Go to Work Naked

A naked man who was apparently hit by a bus on Pembina Highway Monday morning was taken to hospital in unstable condition.

The incident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. Monday on Pembina right at the Jubilee underpass.

A woman who assisted the man at the scene said he was breathing but unconscious, and was covered in bruises and scrapes.

The woman said — although she didn't witness the accident — that it appeared he had jumped over the guardrail off a grassy berm at the northwestern corner of the underpass, landing directly in the path of a bus that was southbound on Pembina.

The man, who appeared to be in his 20s, was also nude.

"He was completely naked except for a gold bracelet on his wrist," said the woman, who didn't want her name used.

The woman said a few people helped out during the bizarre scene, with one woman taking it upon herself to direct traffic away from the man and another trying to cover him up with a shirt.

The woman herself went to help the injured man.

"I put my hand over his mouth and I felt hot air," she said. "I was prepared to do CPR but once I knew he was breathing I just tried to comfort him. I just kept squeezing his hand and talking into his ear."

The woman said few people offered to help the man in the seven-plus minutes it took for the paramedics to arrive.

"It was pretty upsetting," she said. "What bothered me is nobody would do anything."

The woman said the man was white, likely in his 20s, with clean-cut hair.

A police spokesman said the man was taken to hospital in unstable condition and added that police would be investigating the incident and releasing more information as it becomes available.
