Well, this is pretty dang sad.

Some rat bastard stole my wife's lily's. She went to go have a look at them in the front yard last night, and all she found were 3 nicely dug holes from where they were STOLEN from!

I've no idea if they were stolen during the day, or the previous night. However I'm quite certain it WAS NOT punk kids! They usually just dig them up and toss them on the lawn.

Unfrigging believable. Buy your own damn flowers...or come by in the fall and maybe I'll split the bulb for ya if your nice....but my wife's flower garden isn't a free-for-all buffet to help diversify your own flower garden! Thieves! 190

Time to f*%king move.

Think of the positive side ( Thieves! Icon_rolleyes )..they must have been some damn fine flowers your wife raised to be so prized as to be stolen.

But still....the bastards!!!

One was scarlet red, and the two others hadn't opened up yet, and were from last year. So we were waiting for them to open up to remind us what colour we picked up last year.

True...maybe they'll at least stay in the neighborhood.

I'm still curious who goes and steals flowers from the front of somebody's home.

And then that leads to more questions....did they drive, or come walking by with a shovel, dig'em up and just walk away holding a 3 freshly uprooted flowers?

We live in Elm-hood. (I'm totally justified in calling it that now)

Strange dichotomy...a flower thief....doesn't seem right to me.

Well if its any consolation at all, my lillies are doing great this year. Sure wish they would flower soon instead of just growing bigger and bigger with each passing day.

The one has a stem about as thick as a quarter.

Oh it has happened here too....I now plant "regular" flowers in the front boxes instead of the more exotic ones....It is frustrating when that happens....your hard work in order to have something beautiful, that gives you joy, not to mention how expensive some of them can be.....and some lazy, cheap bastard comes along and helps them self to your bounty.

Next time I want something taken away, I'll be sure to plant it.

Anyone want a microwave-"plant"?...I figure embedding it in the flower bed, with a good mix of soil, compost and peat, at least up to the broken turn table should do the trick.

My "dead" microwave stayed almost two weeks before someone "claimed" it...

Slightly OT, but speaking of claiming, we had an old picnic table and chair that came with the house that sat unused in our backyard for a few years.

My wife suggested we leave it next to the dumpster in the back lane. It's the North End, someone will take it!

So I worked up a sweat dragging the picnic table to the back lane (why is it my wife never helps implement her suggestions... Wink), and then turned around and got the chair. By the time I returned with the chair (a minute, tops!), the picnic table was gone. No person or car could be seen down the back lane in either direction carting it off, and to this day, I've not seen it in a neighbors backyard.

That's gotta be a record for "claiming". Stealthy, too!

yeah,
the last "FREE" weekend I put a big rocking chair out front with a tag saying FREE.
Went in the house to grab the seat cushion for it...but the time i got back outside the chair was gone.

I just left the cushion on the grass...figured whoever took the chair might come back and find the cushion thinking they got "lucky" Smile.

Here, freshly washed clothes are in style for thieves... Some will even climb up to the second floor to reach up and grab stuff off the clotheslines...

Not to mention booze... (In Italy, they sell booze anywhere).
Drunks regularly go into supermarkets and open bottles and take huge sips of the various liquors... Then they put the bottles back on the shelves and leave...
Some store owners have locked up the stronger, more expensive booze, for this reason. Shouldn't the thieves be the ones getting locked up???
