volunteer organization says... required changes are too hard to implement and decides to quit.

Does it suck to lose a voluteer organization like this? Maybe, but that really depends on what the required changes were that they are basically refusing to implement. Its not like they were using alot of money, but 23 changes is quite alot and you have to wonder just how bad it was.

The government seems to have "bureaucraticized" them out of business.

But we dont know that.. do we? without the list of the 23 changes its really hard to decide if they should have our support and indignation against the government.. or if we should be backing the government and outraged that an organization like this was allowed to exist and provide services in a haphazard manner.

Apparently they were doing well up to this point but the government wants them to expand. At least that's what I got from the story...a corporate Peter Principle thingy eh.

where did you get that from the story? Do you have more details then the crappily written freep story?

I tried searching the MB website but cant find the 23 reccomendations anywhere.

I'm sure it's being discussed in a few circles.

I took it from this...

The manager of FASD programs for the province's Healthy Child initiative said they've been working with the association for years.

"We wanted to work with them," said Holly Gammon. She said the association needed to broaden its services, improve access to resources and build a network of supports and education for families.

yeah but that could just mean be open longer and not be located downtown and make sure that more people know about them
