At about 10 p.m., undercover officers witnessed the 2006 GMC Sierra being driven erratically in the parking lot and moved in to investigate. The vehicle was recognized as a stolen vehicle, and the driver fingered as a wanted high-risk auto thief, police said.

Ewww.... they fingered the driver... looking for drugs I suppose.

A convicted auto thief who spent months in jail after nearly running over a cop is back in custody after allegedly leading police on a dangerous high-speed chase Monday night. Police said the stolen GMC Sierra pickup truck raced down streets at speeds of up to 120 km/h before it crashed into a tree at Notre Dame Avenue and Midland Street about 10 p.m. The 18-year-old man and three passengers were arrested.

41 CONVICTIONS

Officers had been looking for the man -- whose 41 convictions are mostly for auto theft, police said -- after he allegedly breached his probation and disappeared less than a month after he got out of jail.
About time they took this punk and threw away the keys. If not this what then will protect us from them?

The guy has 41 convictions for auto theft. Why was he released to begin with?
