Thank God for the transfer payments allowing Manitoba to afford such bailouts.

We wouldn't have a human rights museum white elephant under construction without transfer payments. All the more reason why transfer payments should be eliminated.

Wouldn't it be nice to take all the money going into Asker's Monument and put it towards fixing our roads or sewer system?

$300 (?) Million and $30 Million a year would go a long way eh.

I think we should create a new bureaucracy. Title it "Inappropriate Government Spending Department" and manage all such spending from there. You know museum expenditures. All museums. Arts group expenditures. All arts groups. And subsidies for football stadiums and arenas and concert halls and Olympics... End them all. No special interest group funding. Women. Jews. Indians. Sports.

And we appoint JTF and Triniman to run the department. We can be certain then that nothing inappropriate will ever be spent. I like that idea.

Think of the quality of roads and infrastructure we'd have then.

You appear to come from the LLoyd Axworthy School Of Government Spending. Wink How'd that work out for us?

Oh, sometimes it is called "First at the Trough School of Spending".
