I am an expert in this field, as I studied it in school.
The chances you will get HIV from an infected partner or as follows:
- The HIV rate in Canada is approx. 75,000 people, that is approx 0.2% of the population (which is lower than the US rate of 0.5%)
- HIV is on the rise in the Aboriginal population
- The higest HIV rate is found among Transvestites
The chances you will get HIV from an infected partner or as follows:
- Mother-to-child : 1/4
- Intravenous Drug Use : 1/71
- Unprotected Receptive Anal Sex: 1/350
- Unprotected Receptive Vaginal Sex: 1/600
- Unprotected Insertive Anal Sex: 1/1000
- Unprotected Insertive Vaginal Sex: 1/1500
- Oral Sex : 1/20,000
