Is there a Dream Theater boycott of Winnipeg?

I doubt it. They headlined here last year, so maybe they don't want to play here too often. Who knows.

Dream Theater and Maiden would be like nails on a chalk board for me. Not a fan of either.

I'm thinking about this one also, I have never seen Maiden.

they got a new album or is this old stuff?

Maiden's last album was spectacular, one of their best. Possibly the best metal album by any group in their age range. They focus so much on songwriting and musicianship that they raise the bar for other bands. There are lesser-known bands that release great albums, like Mastodon's Crack the Skye. But among the biggest and longest-running metal bands, Maiden are tough to beat. And they put on a killer live show.

I saw them when they were here last year (or was it the year before?)... not a bad show but I really couldn't get into it. Think I'll sit this one out.

Well, I wanted to go last year, but wasn't keen on rush floor mosh pit.

I haven't seen them since powerslave. Maybe I'll go.

When tickets went on sale to the public, they were sold out in about 10 minutes. All the floor seats appeared to have been sold during the presale to fan club members.

I think some people will be disappointed.

Most of them are probably the geeks who thought they were buying tickets to a Star Trek Convention...based on the name of the tour and the poster

MTS pre sale password is FLIGHT .

Just bought my tickets. By around 10:05, all pairs of tickets available were in the 300 section. Fortunately, I ended up with a pair in the 200 section.

There still should be lots of good seats available when the public sale is on tomorrow, but I expect they will be gone shortly after 10 am.

ahh christ.. and I was at the MTS centre donating blood I was supposed to go buy my tickets right after!

If you ended up on the floor for Maiden, and made your way close to the front, you'd be donating blood whether you liked it or not!
