Not one that will be made in the future, but one that currently exists, new or used. Would you consider buying one? Or would you steer clear of them?

The media is just kicking the dog while its down. Its not often they get to say bad things about Toyota, so they're taking full advantage of it. Me thinks some PR people from other companies *cough cough* are seeding stories.

How often do you hear about GM or Ford recalls? How long do those stories last?

Most of Toyota's recalls are voluntary, NOT mandatory, meaning they took the honorable path to step forward first and contact their customers.

Would you buy a currently existing Toyota? Icon_question Dam rights I am , and yes don,t think that American Manufacturers are not behind the coverage some what , after all they do alot of advertising on those networks and Americans stick together like glue . GM has always blamed their woes somewhat on Japan.

Wife drives a 06 Corolla. Great car. No problems. Sure as hell beats the Cavalier we used to own.

I like the Tacoma 4X4, but I would rather spend my money on a new FORD. I'd rather support North Americas Economy than support Asia's.

Supporting Made in North America, or better yet Made in Canada is really a good idea. I think all cars made in North America are very well made.
My wife drives a 10 year old Honda and I expect her to be driving it until they take her license away! My next car will be a 10 year old Chrysler Van that me son wants to sell to move to a newer van.
My 1st Chrysler extended van was bought new in 1990 for about $22,500. I think today the price is the same or lower, but I cannot buy a new one at age 65, the NDP government won't allow that!

Both Toyota and Honda have significant manufacturing facilities in Canada. Non union to boot...

I own a 2008 RAV4. The recall did not include this year on this model.

Heh

When I was looking at buying my new car in '08 it came down to a Rav4 and a Compass. I chose the Compass. I should have gone with the Rav4...
