Fiancee: Chris Henry Jumped
Loleini Tonga says she couldn't stop truck, was driving slowly

AP-Chris Henry's fiancee says he jumped out of the back of her truck instead of falling and that she wasn't driving fast on the day the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver was fatally injured.

Loleini Tonga tells ESPN that she thinks Henry thought he would land safely and may have been scared because he saw someone calling the police. She said he didn't jump with the intention of harming himself.

The two had argued on Dec. 16 at the home owned by Tonga's parents in Charlotte, N.C. She didn't say what the argument was about.

Henry died the next day from massive head injuries. Police called the argument a domestic dispute and are investigating the traffic accident, but no charges have been filed.

Previously, it was reported that Henry fell from Tonga's truck.

The interview was taken out of context....I think she was asked if he may have committed suicide and deliberately jumped in order to do so.
Asking that kind of question to a loved one is disturbing though.

It does not make sense. She says she drove slowly, but could not 'stop the car.' In addition to that, appearantly they are now reporting that neighbours are giving statements that contradict her statement given to Police.

Because of certain aspects of where I view this forum, I had to go via a couple of links to see 2 different videos. The first one I watched was of the funeral and then I watched the ESPN interview. The only thing that stuck me as unusual is that the interview showed a teary eyes woman with very short hair and the funeral showed a woman in sunglasses with what appeared to be hair extensions (unless the brief view of another person is the girl friend). But I agree, cruel to even ask a loved on if he was trying to commit suicide. But then again we are talking about ESPN and they tend to ask the dumbest questions regardless of how it will make the interviewee feel.
