Barrin Simpson's days with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers appear to be numbered.
The middle linebacker has asked to be traded over disagreements with the Bomber coaching staff that started last month.

Winnipeg Sun's story "Simpson wants out"

What the heck is going on? Time for someone to step in and figure out
what is going on and fix it. Or we can get a new President and CEO who will. I
think Lyle Bauer may need to be replaced.

That's rough. Up until now the defense was the only part of the team that was working out alright. So much for that.

Simpson's play was declining it's not going to effect the D that much.

Feeling better now. Its been a rather disappointing year again, so I tend to freak out. The bombers have me on edge. At least my NFL team won its game last night.

It appears the Cold War between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Barrin Simpson has thawed.

The veteran linebacker was back at practice yesterday, roughly two weeks after the CFL team sent him away and told him not to return.

Simpson had been the Bombers' leading tackler through the first two months of the 2009 season, but was unhappy when the team asked him to take a backup role after Labour Day.

He asked for a trade and instead was put in the nine-game injured list with a turf toe injury. When the six-time CFL all-star refused to sign the paperwork, the league intervened and he was removed from the nine-game list.

The next week, Simpson was told he was no longer welcome at the Bombers facility.

Since then, the 32-year-old has been given a clean bill of health and patiently awaiting a trade in advance of the CFL's Oct. 14 deadline. But in recent days, the Bombers and Simpson's representative began discussing a reconciliation.

It is unclear whether he will be back on the field on Monday, when Winnipeg (5-Cool visits the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (6-7).

I imagine both Simpson and kelly are eating a little humble pie right now. Both probably let their ego get in the way of what was best for the Bombers.

Seems now that kelly has learned humility his team has improved, a little, and the circus sideshows have disappeared.
