This long-standing tradition is growing in stature each year. Both games are sold out. Fans will be traveling to both cities to attend the games.

Have you ever traveled to Regina to attend the Labour Day Classic?

Tell us your story. And make your prediction.

Who will win the Labour Day Classic?

Who will win the Banjo Bowl?

I went. Once. I can't remember what year though. Details are a little foggy. It was around the time Rider Pride was de rigeur.

I THINK it was 1987: Blue Bombers 29 - Roughriders 25

Late in the game the bombers looked certain to lose. The Saskatchewan fans were loudly singing "start those buses - start those buses". Implying it was time for the traveling Bomber fans to get on the buses and go home.

The Bombers scored two touchdowns in the last minute to win the game. Yay! We turned the tables on those Saskatchewan fans when we started chanting "start those combines - start those combines".

Ahh. Good times.

I think I'm still hungover from that weekend.

I've never been to the Labour day game in Regina, but have been to every Banjo Bowl since it's inception!

Labour Day Bombers 24 Riders 14
Banjo Bowl Bombers 31 Riders 16
That would bring the team up to 5-5!

Been to the banjo bowl once. With my 7 (or was she 8?) year old niece dressed as a saskatchewan cheerleader Smile

so many sask fans at the game you could see little seas of green all over the place

Whoa. Pretty sad first half. Bombers are still in it though. That last play may have made for a much different second half had they run it in.

It should have been a quarterback sneak when they were on the one yard line at the end of the first quarter.

I'm willing to place a $20 wager that The Steelers win the Superbowl this year.

Actually it is right on topic, It shows how upset I am that I would rather talk NFL than my beloved CFL.

I was not surprised that the Bombers lost in Regina. They will have a better performance in the banjo bowl, I expect.

I doubt it, They will lose again. And there will be much shame. Maybe it is time to hire a offensive coordinator, or a coach who isnt so full of himself or as green.

did you hear the Mike Kelly interview on CJOB yesterday?

He says the OC (forget his name) will be down on the field being more involved and "hands-on" for the next game.

Shouldn't the OC be "hands-on" during EVERY game? adjusting as required to make the offense actually work?

Ummmm, there is NO oc! Kelly has been acting as the oc, the quarterback coach and head coach.

well then something must be changing...according to that interview.

whoever hasn't been "on the field" will be coming down to be the OC.

Kelly has admitted he has been wearing too many hats. He has elected to have other assistant coaches take on some of his myriad of responsibilities. This is the second time he said that in the last two-three weeks. Maybe this time he'll actually hand off those responsibilities.

Maybe they got smart and hired a QB coach and a OC to go along with the new Qb they hired

i don't think they hired anyone.

whoever he was talking about...seems to have been up in a booth somewhere.

his comment was something about a guy "coming down on the field, and serving as OC with a more "hands-on" approach."
