ok...and see...THAT is something that should be done at the CP Rail yards.

Create a central "hub" for taxis, buses, monorail, etc.

Have it centralized (like under/near the Arlington Bridge)...and service the whole city out from that point.

Too big a project, and plus, who'd think 100000 peeps would move into Winnipeg in just a few years' time?
I do agree, however, that some railway lines should be given to the city for transit purposes, and NOT for private use...

yeah the 100K peeps is a big obstacle to overcome.

Now if we just had some sort of industry which we would build up that would bring them here.. some sort of energy thing..maybe greenish

the forks used to be a rail yard look what its blossemed to not first time its been done..

the cpr rail yard is so masive it would take alot to do somthing with it as most of it is track and most of the buildings that used to be there has been long riped down...

It would cost million and millions just to move it. Then millions more to decontaminate the land. Who's going to pay? Definitely not CP.

I thought $265 million was the dollar that was approved? Please ask Triniman what was approved so we can get the numbers checked.
Wasn't there an additional $22 million per year approved to run that building? And wouldn't that money be spent almost entirely local helping the local economy?
And if this approved project was moved to another City, how would that benefit Winnipeg?
Would we get paid for less complaints?
