The only other reason I can think of for not giving your cat lots of fresh fish would be parasites....and I'm not even sure of that.

We had a friend at the lake who used to catch fish off his dock to feed his cats....he didn't like fish at all, but would bring his cats out with him (he was older, so he would stay out for weeks at a time) they stay inside and eat like kings with fresh perch and anything else he happened to catch. His cat's never had any problem...

Could be parasites for the fish. If there are bones in it that's also an issue because fish bones are very different from other bones and I think they can cause some real damage. Also, beware of a lot of types of flowers. Many are very poisonous for cats.

I used to feed my cat pretty much only fish that I caught..

LOL poor bastard the one time he got greedy for whatever reason and ate an entire 12 inch Jack fish.... hehe middle of winter and all he could do was lay on the step and meow the most pitiful meow you ever heard...

Poinsetta plants are highly poisonous, for anyone, not just pets.
Weird, they didn't mention chicken bones in the list. Does that mean chickens now grow up boneless. (KFC already uses skinless chickens... poor things...).

Chicken bones are okay only if they are uncooked. Dogs love raw chicken btw...but for some reason will get the runs with fish.

Also, I've understood a dog would have to eat 25lbs of chocolate to become ill, or some such huge amount.

Hmmm, my dog loves chocolate... My uncle is a vet and told me that this is a myth with large breed dogs and that it won't harm them... considering he is a vet and kept a golden retreiver for 18 years before the golden past away...My dog also loves beer...

When I babysat five dogs in Jamaica I used to go down to the butcher shop and get chicken necks and back bones.....I would boil these up, let the mix cool off and then set in the fridge overnight to gel.....I would make a huge pot of rice as well. The next day my charges would get rice, the chicken parts and gel and some kibble.....you should have seen the look of shock on the faces of the Jamaican matrons when I told them that the chicken parts were for the dogs.....those parts of the bird are a Jamaican favourite to be stewed with curry.....the dogs sure loved it and it was very economical given that the dog kibble was all imported from the U.S.

Cooking makes bones very brittle and that's dangerous to animals. Raw bones are different.

Google is a friend where it comes to feeding bones to dogs.

That list is my wifes list of what she serves me! I wonder if that is the reason I bark out so many orders?

I wouldn't want to.

I have babysat dogs all over the world my friend and feed said dogs according to owner's and vet's instructions and have yet to have one of my charges get ill or hurt. Aside from the food issues I have had to deal with tropical parasites, snake bites, mange, poor training etc...

What may work for some dogs may not work for others. I would not feed a chihuahua for example the same kinds of foods that I would feed a chocolate lab or a bull mastiff.

Just because JTF you say so does not make it so....I only cite a success story, one of several.
