TORONTO — Gasoline prices that hovered in the $1.40 a litre range during the summer are now below the $1 mark in many areas of the country. Some retailers in eastern Ontario are selling gas today for as low as 83.4 cents a litre, according to the website gasbuddy.com. The price rises to around 90 cents per litre in the Toronto region; a price not seen in the country’s largest city for about 20 months. Some stations in Quebec, western Canada and in the Atlantic provinces are also selling a litre of regular gas for below $1, according to the website.
