http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/canada/our-troops-get-tighter-rules-of-engagement-49837447.html

"Canadian commanders in Afghanistan received new fighting orders on Thursday that will prevent their troops from shooting at the Taliban if there is any risk of civilian casualties, even if it means allowing the enemy to escape.
The stricter rules of engagement were laid down in a "tactical directive" sent to all foreign forces in Afghanistan by U.S. army Gen. Stanley McChrystal who was U.S. President Barack Obama's recent choice to take over the NATO-led war here"

I would like our boys and girls to come home now.

I wonder how popular that feeling is today?

I guess the brain trust who changed the rules of engagement never heard the adage that "he who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day." Sort of like giving the bad guys a get out of jail free card.

I don't want to debate the validity of the mission or our involvement, but want to say that had any of my 4 kids made the same choice that I did when I was their age, it is likely that they would be serving over there now. I can not fathom for one moment what the loss of a child must be like, but that being said, I understand the attitude of young soldiers and I would bet that not one of them wants to come home until their job, whatever that may be, is done.

Stupid Generals or Harper's bazar, butting in!
Shoot and kill ant one, any time, any place, if they look suspicious!
Bring our troops home safe, and let the Taliban do what ever they want! It is up to the Afghan parliament to control the area. It is up to the Afghan army to control the area. It is up to the Afghan police to control the area.
What the hell are we doing there when we could use the army here in Canada to control Harper, to control the aboriginals on the reserves, to help repair the City of Wpg's recovered bicycles.
Get out of there!

Viet Nam, Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq, butting into independant countries via the CIA. Such stupid, and continual policies that kill "our" men, and boys.
All because the USA is trying to make every country think and act like the USA.
The USA are right in their attitude, but it sure is costly.
Why did 50,000 Americans and as many as 2,000,000 Vietnamese have to die, when one looks at the history of Vietnam, all the Vietnames insisted on, was stay out of our country, it has nothing to do with you French,or you Americans.
2,000,000 Vietnames- the number is mind boggling, and the money spent on bombs could have fed the whole world's hungry for 45 years!
