We are all very lucky to live in Canada. Can you name something that Canada or Canadians have done that stands out as something special?

Dispite living right next door to them, we've remained friends with the Americans...quite a feat I'd say. Happy Canada Day 87856

I'd say one thing that stands out is our reputation. We have a good reputation internationally of being a good-hearted, kind and compassionate people.

Just checked over on the darkside (New Winnipeg), and they don't even have a thread to say Happy Canada Day on it; pathetic.

I'm with the rat dude on the health care thing.......we might b1tch and gripe about our overcrowded hospitals and ER's but I am ever so thankful its there when I need it and won't cost me a fortune for an unexpected surgery. Just think, those millions of unemployed Americans that were hit with the recession now probably have to pay their own healthcare on top of having no job! Damn I'm lucky to be a Canadian......Happy 142nd Canada!!

Which fireworks show was the best?

Assiniboine Park?
The Forks?
The North End?

Seriously, some dude had his own little show - about 12 roman candles.

There were reports of gunshots in the North End on Canada Day. Did anyone get a chance to rate them vs The Forks or Assiniboine Park?
