The Food and Drug Administration fears that consumers are overdosing by pairing pure acetaminophen medication, such as Tylenol, with cough and cold medications that also contain the drug, plus other ingredients.
Acetaminophen is the leading cause of liver damage in the U.S., sending 56,000 people to the emergency room annually.

Has anyone ever read any warnings on this? Check your pain pills!
This is scary- I take that when I have a headache and that is at least 3 times a year!
I am lucky because my neurosurgeon tells me that I am "neurolically normal"!! lol

It appears that the story is not true!
So who do you believe- the singer Boyle or the lying, lyars who write stories for fun?

Theresa Boyle - please verify your information before writing. Acetaminophen is NOT the number one cause of liver disease in the United States. The leading causes are alcoholism, viral hepatitis and fatty liver. Acetaminophen is dangerous only in overdose and NOT in usual doses even to a liver diseased by some other process.

You know who cannot read those instructions? Those nice people over the age of 50 or so. The fine print is too small.

Do pharmacists talk to you when you buy the $1.99 over the counter aspirin?

No, you go to them and ask them. "Do I take this pill with this other pill? I can't read this fine print here." They will answer you.

On an Advil container, marked FOR MIGRAINE RELIEF- "DO not take Advil if taking acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) or ibuproten, or if allergc to ASA, salicytates or anti-inflamatory drugs, or any og its ingrediants. Consult your physician if the pain persists for more than 5 days. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
On Extra Strength Acetaminophen ," It is hazardous to exceed the maximum recommended dose."
"This product is not a standard dosage unit"
I wonder if the government is complaining about the "extra" amount of acetaminophen in the tablets, 500 mg! Maybe it should contain 200 mgms?
The warning is there, but, "consult a Doctor" is the part that isn't reasonable in Canada.
You have a headache and you have these over the counter headache, fever, arthritic pain, muscular aches and sprains menstral cramps.
