India launches Lunar Mission

Check out the fourth mission objective... while it's still there.

Its been cleaned up already, but here's what it said:

* To launch and orbit a spacecraft in lunar polar orbit and conduct scientific studies.
* To carry out high resolution mapping of topographic features in 3D, distribution of various minerals and elemental chemical species including radioactive nuclides covering the entire lunar surface using a set of remote sensing payloads. The new set of data would help in unraveling mysteries about the origin and evolution of the Solar System in general and that of the Moon in particular, including its composition and mineralogy.
* Realise the mission goal of harnessing the science payloads, lunar craft and the launch vehicle with suitable ground support system including DSN station, integration and testing, launching and achieving lunar orbit of ~100 km, in-orbit operation of experiments, communication/telecommand, telemetry data reception, quick look data and archival for scientific utilisation by identified group of scientists.
* Establish first 7-11 in outer space

The race for space sure has grown eh? Russia, China, India, France (Europe?) and the good ol' USA. Must piss off the Americans eh?

Maybe Canada should finally do something about the space race. Maybe get in on it by first building an awesome supersonic jet or something and then grow from there.

You mean the satellites that Magellan/Bristol have been launching don't count?

Sad to say the engineers who built the Arrow did, many of them helped put man on the moon . Also went on to skunk works to help develop the Stealth technology. Sad to say a generation of Canada's brightest left when the Conservatives stopped our own and caved into American pressure something they still do. Wheat Board.

It's no coincidence the spire looks like the point of a rocket .
