You're talking about the elections results eh?

It'll be interesting to see what happens.

More interesting why the "Media" is not reporting anything at all.

Fareed Zakaria of CNN said yesterday that he believes the results are fraudulent. The main opponent had reason to believe that it was going to be close and then the incumbent ends up with 2/3 of the vote? Something doesn't seem right, but I don't know if we'll find out. Nice to see them out in the streets, mad as hell.

I've been following the election for about a week. My gut instinct tells me an Ahmadinejad victory would be questioned whether or not he won fair and square.

I'll take this with a grain of salt. Most of the coverage and indeed most of the interviews I've seen took place in Tehran. Tehran seems to be the opposition's stronghold, as most of the young, progressive, change-minded people live there.

While Ahmadinejad has some support base in Tehran, the bulk of his support comes from older voters in the rural and outlying areas. In the week I've been following the election, I did not see ONE interview in the outlying areas.

I imagine a victory by the other guy, Mir-Hossein Mousavi Khameneh, would also have been questioned.

yeah.. note the times of those posts JTF. This has been brewing for over 30 hours now and the mainstream media is just now slowly starting to report.

Will somone assassinate the current pres?

I for one dont know what to think

Polls said this and that and well.. hell from being in Canada we know the polls can be very very very wrong sometimes. So what IF this was a totally legal and above board turn out from voting? Should these people be stopped as gently as possible or should they be allowed to keep doing what they want?

That's true too.

What I should have written was "an Ahmadinejad victory would have been subject to more Western scrutiny than if his opponent had won".

When Mousavi realized he could not cancel Monday's mass demonstration, he delivered a speech before the immense crowds, said to stretch five miles deep, and attempted to tone down the protest.

5 miles of crowds... and the police actually think that they would be able to do anything? Man.. a full blown army could not deal with that many people.

Wow - five miles deep. Don't think the Police could do much other that "take a few down with us".

Interesting side note... take a good look at the picture in the article. If they're protesting the election, why are some people holding a banner that reads "Down with USA"? What the frick does the USA have to do with it? (Stock photo, methinks...context folks, context!)
