Wow! Looking at the score, I assumed they were playing football!

Maybe it was sympathy runs given for charging $12/popcorn and $120/sweatshirt.

That is too funny of a score, I wathced the first 2 innings and turned it off because if was the beginning of a route at that point, 7-2 with only 1 out for Cleveland.

But that's one of the things about baseball. You can get blown out like that in one game and it doesn't really mean much.

If a football team gets pounded 72-0 or a hockey team gets beaten 16-0 or a basketball team gets beaten by 60 points - you can be pretty sure that the team is going to suck that season.

Because the baseball season is so long a single blowout like that doesn't mean much. Now string 4 or 5 games in a row like that together and there may be some issues.

It's hard to imagine a sport that has 526 teams and plays 800 games a season like baseball does eh? Then only what 6 teams make the playoffs?

I am a baseball purist.......I absolutely hate the wildcard thing they do now. It should be the top team in each division that makes the playoffs, now baseball is hardly better then hockey, where the seasonal play starts to mean so little because you know you'll make the playoffs anyway. And another thing that turned me off on baseball is the regular season games now between AL and NL teams. Isn't that what the world series was for??? All for the sake of a few dollars we've let America's national past time slide!
And the drug scandals hurt baseball so bad too, IE Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire,etc....tainted baseball records galore now, truly sad. They cheated in the old days too, but that was a game of cat and mouse, not like it is today. Don Sutton had a tack taped to his thumb for scuffing up balls, Gaylord Perry with the vaseline under the brim of his cap, Graig Nettles and his loaded bats, that was good clean cheating!

I agree with Eastsider it is so watered down by the time playoffs start who cares much like Hockey and especially the NFL

I think that it is all about the more games the more money!
Not that there is anything wrong with that thinking!
