No it drags on far to long June Iam out at the lake fishing and hockey is the last thing I want to watch.

Just bored of overdrawn series games . Best of 7 only in the final for the cup. I know it is money that makes it happen .

Yeah...didn't the Cup games usually end the 1st/2nd week of May?

I could've sworn it was always done before I got out of school for the year.

It has nothing to do with best of seven series and everything to do with the fact every team in the league makes the play-offs.

with a coin toss deciding who goes forward if its a tie.

Agreed it is his agenda to force every American to love Hockey as much as football though and it has ruined the game .

Definitely not. The first round is always the most exciting round, and generates tons of revenue for the NHL. If anything, the NHL should reduce the regular season from 82 games to 72 games.

There is talk about that HA. It has merit in my eyes.

But, not sure I agree entirely about the first round being the best round. The closely matched teams (Pittsburgh & Philly for example) are just terrific. The Detroit - Columbus, Boston - Montreal series on the other hand are terrible.

I don't think it's been like that since the 1970's. I remember the Flyers-Oilers playing for the Stanley Cup back in 87', and that 7 game series had the first game ever played in June if I can recall correctly.

Yes I believe you are right , it is better to have the first round maybe second best of 5 to get to the teams that desearve to be there. By the time there through beating each other up the 2 best usually are not there .
