What is with this misleading statement?

"Miami Cuban gets civilian Latin American post at Pentagonmisleading statement?"

The Obama administration has tapped a Miami-born, Cuban-American scholar to serve as the Defense Department's senior civilian appointee overseeing Latin American and Caribbean operations.
Frank O. Mora, 45, starts later this month as deputy assistant secretary of defense for the western hemisphere, a Pentagon job.
He has spent the last five years at National War College, where he has taught courses on strategy, global security, and Latin American and Caribbean defense and security issues.
During 2002-2003, Mora was a visiting professor of international studies at the University of Miami Institute for Cuban and Cuban-American Studies.
He has also done consulting for for the U.S. Department of the Air Force, Department of the Army, CIA Office of the Secretary of Defense.
A political scientist, he has a 1987 bachelor's degree from George Washington University and got both a master's and doctorate from the University of Miami.
Mora grew up in Miami and went to the Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, where he graduated in 1982.

Eneida Roldan has been selected as the new chief executive of the Jackson Health System. She replaces Marvin O'Quinn, who left in December.

BY JOHN DORSCHNER
After a nationwide search, the Public Health Trust voted unanimously Friday to pick a veteran Miami hospital administrator, Eneida Roldan, as the new chief executive of the Jackson Health System.
She will become the first woman and first Hispanic to lead the tax-supported system, which generates more than $1 billion in revenue from four hospitals, 10 primary care centers and other facilities, as well as a half-penny sales tax.
With growing numbers of uninsured and pressures to reduce reimbursement rates for the Medicaid program that serves the poor, Roldan acknowledges she will face severe challenges of running a public hospital during a recession.
''With my connections to this community, I think I can bring together the whole group of stakeholders for a common cause,'' she told The Miami Herald in a telephone interview Friday evening.
She plans to talk to physicians, union leaders, employees and local government leaders to support Jackson's efforts. ``This cannot be done by one person.''
Angel Medina, vice chair of the Public Health Trust, said the board was impressed with her ''experience and the understanding of the community,'' which will be necessary in facing the financial challenges ahead. ``It's a difficult time right now.''
Roldan, a physician who trained at Jackson, joined the system in 2008 as senior vice president. Since the departure of the previous CEO, Marvin O'Quinn, at the end of last year, she has served as chief operating officer, interim president and interim chief compliance officer.
Before joining Jackson, Roldan was CEO of the 146-bed Metropolitan Hospital of Miami and its predecessor, Pan American Hospital. She was selected to head Pan American in 2006 and led it out of a two-year stint in bankruptcy court.
Raised in Miami, she attended the University of Miami and the Ross University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology and fellowship training in pediatric pathology at Jackson. She also has a master's in public health from the University of South Florida and a master's in business administration from the University of Tennessee.

have you ever been to Spain rosie?

Not all "Latin" people are dark-haired/dark-skinned. In fact, many Spanish people are Blonde-haired/Blue-eyed.

Then again...she could be adopted. My wife and I just had this discussion last week. She's adopted...and tells people she's "Ukrainian"...which...maybe her birth-parents were...but it's unknown. Her adoptive parents were though...so even if she was a Chinese baby...she'd probably still say she's Ukrainian due to her upbringing.
