interesting watching the newsclips about the Boston Tea Party today

Supposedly according to one poll Most Americans are just fine with the amount of taxes they pay.

Yet how can anyone ignore the fact that 750 protests happened around the USA today? Has there EVER before in the history of the USA been any one single event that had that many concurrent protests?

And of course it seems people are possibly starting to realize that increased federal debt will eventually have to be paid back, which will eventually lead to higher taxes.

So... Hows about someone start organizing the Canadian Boston tea parties?

Blame the tea party crap on the Ditto Heads - followers of Fat Lushbahhhhh...unofficial head of the GOP. That party - Lincoln must be rolling in his grave.

BTW, it's been well documented on the internets that these events were promoted by Fox News, and funded by various Republican organizations, assisted by several big named Republican's and they are trying to pass this off as a grassroots event.

Yeah but whats the use of protesting when you have been fed a load of propaganda? Kind nulls the legitimacy of the protest....SHEEPLE - that is what most of these folks are....they keep forgetting that it was the W administration and his buddies that could have prevented this...Clinton got the ball rolling in 98 but baby Bush could have stopped it....oh I know why - profits were too good to pass up!

The GOP is loaded with fat hypocrites....hell, both parties come to think of it but that one is worse than the dems for the most part....

personally I think the sheeple are the people that think being 13 Trillion in debt will ever be manageable and that dumping that kind of money is actually going to do anything to help with the economy. Bankers and brokers are playing with dollar figures and the administration is eating it up like sugar coated honey.

Manage your company better....yes, I have problems with the bailout but higher taxes are a necessary evil.....so much entitlement in that nation south of us.....

sorry Dean.....what is happening down there just makes me so angry because this problem is worldwide....capitalism, pure unfettered greed and stupidity and when the whiny little bitches are not making enuff money they come crying to Uncle Sam to bail them out....capitalism? More like recalcitrant children who stay at home with mummy and daddy cause the real world is too mean and cruel...

Doesn't anyone find it intriguing that when the middle class gets a tax hike, there are no protests. But when the upper class gets a hike, and the middle class gets a cut, well, hold on, we're going to have to orchestrate a massive campaign and disguise it as something spontaneous coming from the grassroots.

Not only that, but the principal behind he "stunt" (I'm not calling it a protest) is displeasure with government waste and higher taxes (on the rich)....so how do they try and make their point? By going online and buying tea, and wasting it!

Bravo!

the point is actually that regardless of the middle income tax cut currently... Taxes will have to be raised substanially across the board ..very very substannially in the next couple of years to pay for this whole bailout mess.

The only point of the current middle income tax cut is to very crappily attempt to somehow get the economy back on track. It aint gonna happen.

It's Fiat currency....so how much do you want? The Fed will fix you up with a good rate!

Of course taxes are going to have to go up. They are going to have to go up regardless due to the bailout and the fiscal irresponsibility that's gone on for decades. And that was fine with the upper class so long as the middle and lower classes were doing the brunt of paying it back. But now that the pendulum has swung the other way, well, that's different. Can't have that, can we, that's an outrage!

I dont think anyone quite realizes just how much taxes will have to go up in the USA to pay this off. We are talking in the order of a 50% or more increase in income taxes across the board. Or perhaps an additional GST of around 10% on everything. Americans are pretty much hosed. Their government owns the banks, the insurance agencies and a crap load of houses...how far from communism are they?.. the answer.. not very

mind you... they could just sell Florida.

Sorry, the U.S. Government is owned by the banks...not the other way around. The US gets it's money printed by the Federal Reserve Bank, which is a private bank that prints and distributes money loaned to the Federal Government which the Federal Reserve charges interest on.

It's actually a pretty sweet arrangement....if your the Federal Reserve.

Oh and they'll probably begin a period of hyperinflation by devaluing the dollar or just replace it with some other kind of currency. I doubt they will be paying it back anytime soon.

that - dean - is another part of the problem...all that speculating and flipping drove prices thru the roof, folks got mortgages that they should never have gotten, the rates went up, folks didnt read the fine print, the bad loans got sold over and over again, foreclosures happened, debts loads shot up......of course she cannot afford the payments if the house is over half a million and you had prices like that in shithole towns like Stockton in California.....gangland and industrial farming wasteland city and shite houses were selling for the hundreds of thousands of dollars.....

Unrealistic values......and ordinary folks get caught in the middle....read the fine print in that contract people....spend the money on an attorney to save the headaches later.

hard to believe that WE are actually trying to fix a problem that was caused by unreasonable loans being given to people, by trying to prop up banks that have insane amounts of money sitting around so that they can ... give loans to people.

People with no incomes and no jobs were given houses. They couldn't care less about fine print I reckon. Don't forget, 25% of those defaults never made a first payment.

People with reasonably well off incomes were given loans on houses that they would never concievably pay off in their life time

People with good incomes go bankrupt when just one of the income earners has to have major heart surgery or gets cancer....another part of the problem in america.....health care costs....\most of my friends down there pay big dollars to make sure this does not happen to them and still there are no guarantees if your HMO decides to change the rules or nitpick
