Anyone know if the CM people are still riding on the last friday of every month?? I googled it and only found seemingly outdated information.

I have not heard of anything in a very long time. You a critical mass kinda guy cc?

Sorta yes sorta no, after watching the cop rip the camera off the uptown reporter, I figured I'd ride with the intention of obeying the laws and officers instructions, ofcourse I also carried a camcorder as well....

All went ok, but I suppose I do believe in why they ride, single occupancy cars are an environmental downfall.

post on newwinnipeg.com. if memory serves a couple of the mods were involved in that. There was some activity with CM last year but last I heard the cops were double the number of riders.

Cops have NO BUSINESS taking anyone's camera away unless that person is blatantly getting in the way of the officer executing his/her job.....I have had coppers try to do it to me without success....it is a lame attempt at intimidation that does not sit well with this veteran shooter....

I most certainly interested to see if this group does get going again as |I missed it last year....time to resurrect the angry, guerilla cyclist in me.

They also have no business taking the memory chip and/or deleting images. Some of these jerks are the biggest PR problem the police have. The head honchos need to give these a$$holes a smack upside their heads when this happens.

I consider that assault....it is bad PR for the department and smacks of fascism....touching my gear is the same as touching me....either way, if not invited to do so either by an offer or a smile, you will suffer the consequences....muahahahahahahahahaha! :mad 040:

Having taken part in a few Critical Mass rides in the past (at its prime if you will) and having my ear pretty close to the ground with regards to the cycling community, I'm quite certain the event has died for good in Winnipeg.

Mainly because since then, a series of legitimately run organizations and bike shops have begun taking matters into their own hands, working with MPI, the City, etc.. and have shun the Critical Mass riders as well.
