of for fucks sake... seriously what the hell is wrong with being overtly nationalistic... and if anyone.. ANYONE is offended by OUR flag they should be just as offended by being in the country so whats next declaring and land they are standing on as an individual country?

"We want to be as fully representative of all of our students as possible, so what we want to do is go out there and make sure that this is something the students want to see," Elizabeth McKeown, the student association's vice-president of student life, told CBC News on Monday.

The association is preparing a questionnaire to ask students about the flag after it received a submission raising the possibility that Canada's red-and-white standard could be "exclusionary."

"People may not realize that overt displays of patriotism can also be seen as exclusionary and even sometimes work to undermine democratic ideals," the unsigned letter reads.
Anyone that feels excluded (and anyone sensitive to that moron) need to leave the country immediately never to return. How does this crap ever gain traction?

Wow....this is ludicrous.....Canadians IMHO are not prone to the overt patriotic nonsense like our south of the 49th folks.....so why the big debate over one flag being restored to its original spot? How can the hanging of our standard be deemed as exclusionary? Weird, way too PC and rather a waste of time on the part of the student association.

Hhahahahaha....forgot you were a yankee imperialist running dog....I just returned from the states....toured a few places after the boat work and boy was i ever flagged out after awhile....BTW I am all for hanging Jolly Rogers all over the place.....hell, Alfred E. Neuman flags would be even cooler....

It's Canada...there should be Canadian flags in/on EVERY building...but if there's not one...there should NEVER be a discussion as to whether it would "offend" someone. If they don't want to support the country they are living in (and if they are attending school in Canada they are LIVING here...even if temporarily)...then GET OUT!!! GO AWAY!!! GO JUMP IN AN AVALANCHE!!!

I don't care if the flag "symbolizes" anything you protest...it's where you're living...and you make the CHOICE to live here...so CHOOSE to support it or GET OUT!!!

Ya know on second thought, I think I would rather they fly their flag on a pole outside, rather than hung on a ceiling where other banners are going to be displayed. A flag deserves to be flapping in the breeze. And lit up at night, or hoisted and taken down ceremoniously each day.

I read that part too...but that's not what I'm upset about.

Inside or out doesn't matter to me. The fact that it's being "questioned" because some idiot is offended is what bothers me.

If the only debate was whether it should be in/out...I would never have even brought it up.
