Only 1900 people in Quebec can afford / are inclined to go to hall concerts anyways....

Just for comparison, the Manitoba Centennial Concert Hall seats 2305, opened in 1968, cost $8 Million, & Million of which was raised through private and corporate donations.

And what did the average construction worker work for , what was gas . It is all relavent in all ways , and that was the premier Centenial project along with the Pan Am Games.

I don't believe MrRat was not suggesting a true cost comparison of the two projects. Mostly it is an interesting fact.

At the end of the day the cost of that concert hall is staggering. Where is the outrage? Should our tax dollars be going into this? Or is this okay because the Aspers are not involved?

The price isn't out of line for the bureaucracy! The problem is estimates in government mean nothing.
The only estimate that was ever close was the Liberal estimate of $2 million dollars for a gun registry. The end cost was 2 or 4 billion. Isn't it nice to run a government agency??
