Gerbasi scores big win over Katz on oversight

While I'm not a Gerbasi fan I found her position on this matter, and the genesis behind it, bang-on. Good for her. And it puts shammy on notice his bullshit will not be tolerated.

Shammy arrogantly states he recused himself on the parking lot/Goldeyes discussion and vote but man did things STINK to high heaven at city hall in those days.

Katz has alot of balls to say he wanted a stronger system of accountability. Ya Right!

But he did open a can of worms in saying many councillors are 'cheating' on their expense accounts....

That has to be looked into very quickly before the issue dies.

Councillors spending accounts are online for all to see.... so what does he mean about cheating? That is an accusation that should be followed up immediatly by the auditor for the province.

He said they were eating at fancy restaurants needlessly.

"Frankly speaking, I'm extremely disappointed we didn't go much further," he said, accusing opposition councillors of hiding expense-account irregularities. "There's no secret about that. Many councillors don't want people knowing when they're buying tickets to what type of events of what (political) parties they're supporting. Or what restaurants they're going to."
