I know the Orlikow name from the North End. His Father was in the provincial government, or was the Minister of Education, I think, but his Uncle was the Federal NDP representing the North End for a long , long time. I remember when I was in Ottawa wandering around with my wife, we ran into him by accident and he took us into the parliament buildings and treated us to lunch. He knew my Father as a supporter. That was neat- circa 1970's ?

Rosie. Check out WSD 1 and tell me we need a guy like this in city council.
WSD1 sure isn't the best run SD in the province. There isn't a dime around that they don't want to spend.

He got in with 57% vote against Curry! I went to vote yeserday , and I found out that I am not in River Heights. I have had an Orlikow sign up, as I like the name. Orlokow was my daughter's cross country running coach, so that was a good enough reason to put a sign , plus he used to work at Bombolini's and was an excellent waiter!

Councillors are not to blame for school taxes, in my opinion. The provincial government should be responsible to pay 100% of the costs of education, right through university and beyond. The province collects from taxpayers, and then the cost of education is paid for by those who can afford it, not those that own property!
