Now that A-rod admits to steroid use from 2001 to 2003.

Does this mean he automatically loses the record he set in 2001 and it reverts back to mark Mcguire's record from 1998?

Screw them both, the crown still belongs to Roger Maris and his spectacular season in I believe 1961.And to think that Commisioner Ford Frick deemed it necessary to put an asterisk beside Maris's name in the record book, all because Maris took 6 (154 game season for Ruth vs 162 game season for Maris) extra games to do it. If Roger got an asterisk for that what the hell do Bonds, McGwire, A-Rod, Sosa and Canseco deserve?? I say asterisk the hell outta their records too!

I thought that Bond's record of 73 in 2001 was the single season high even though he is under investigation. If the league is going to say that these guys are all under the influence (including Mcguire and Sosa) then the record should go back to Maris as he was clean. Maguire has never admitted to performance enhancing drugs and at the time of his record breaking season, if he was using Andro it was legal in MLB. BUT when you look at his size when he was in his first 5 years as opposed to his last 5 years, age and maturity can only explain some of his size.
Hard to say how MLB should rule on this one. IMO

the proof is in the proof Smile ie Bonds 100% admits to using performancing enhancing illegal drugs. The most McQuire is accused of (admits to?) is using performance enhancing legal drugs.
