Are they trying to sell cr@ppy laptops again?

I would never buy a used laptop unless it was to give as a gift to my enemy.

With great power (and a dual core processor) comes great responsibility.

You got $60? wow...might have suggested $50.

Best thing to do with that is to give it to a kid (under 9 years old) to pound on and learn how all the buttons work. That way when they are 10...you can get them a "real" one, and they might not break it so quickly.

Why not donate it to a school. They can always use computers in the classrooms for the kids to learn on, even if it is slow and antiquated. The school also does the hard drive clean up so all files are wiped off and the hard drive is re-formatted. Just a suggestion, seeing it is close to the time of giving.

Aside from a Nursery School, they probably wouldn't take it because they can't put any software on it outside of WinXP...and even then it will run slow.

Since MS doesn't support anything older than WinXP anymore...it's not like they can go install an old version with patches.

$10 or if you're feeling generous $20 - that should sum up the value of its parts.

I don't think the museum would be interested in me. Or did you mean "donate the laptop to the Conceited Jerk Retrocomputing Sweatshop"?

Nope, no Vic-20s in the sweatshop. I DO have a TRS-80 I've been using as a 'net terminal lately, though Cool
